Gemini

I just finished making eight new Gemini mini masterpieces. They’re all a little bit different. A good client of mine ordered one over the internet. Her’s is the last with a broken glass mirror. They are one of the original images that I ever used for the compacts.

Gemini’s can always get away with both a strong eyeliner and lipstick together, not many signs can rock both!

3 Min Makeup

I’m being pretty lazy at the moment, because I wake up at 5:45AM for work at www.organicavenue.com My makeup takes me three minutes, in no particular order, totally freestyle! As my Mother would say.
Blossom blush swept upwards with a blusher brush, ebony eyeliner, messily, but definitely making sure to line the inside of the eye, and one coat of waterproof brown mascara. Even though it’s quick, I end up feeling more alive and feminine in simply 3 minutes.

Daisy

Best Summer Home Accessory

Check out our new link for Houseware on www.lindamason.com. You can purchase hand silk screened pillows, and more to come. Our good friend Diego bought one for his rocking chair upstate. He said his wife has control of the decorating, but his rocking chair he wants to be special. He was also thrilled to hear that the pillow was simple to care for, and eco-friendly.

Celebrity Compact Powder

I’m very excited about my products in Russia. They seem to be doing very well.

Sharon Stone now has my OOM powder compact with a bronzer in it, after she complimented on how beautiful it was. With her milky complexion she would also look great using my Water base and Water concealer.

A New Look

I’ve been told recently that my signature sand yellow eyeshadow, which has been a staple of mine for 3 years, needs to change. My assistants can often be very blunt. I’ve started using stone, a light matte green, as well as making the blue seafoam shadow more prominent.

Summer Style

There’s no gradual season change in New York. You have virtually no time to ponder how your style will shift for Summer.

I took my last pair of silk pajamas, that I sell at the shop, home yesterday because they simply won’t work in 100 degree weather. Today, I have on a lime green cotton wrap screened with bright orange and pink faces, and a simple v-neck ‘Je t’aime’ top, both which are available at the shop.  Everyday is a busy day for me, so I like to be able to throw on something simple, bright, and beautiful to wear. Especially because I like to spend more time on my makeup anyway!

Xoxo, Linda

Blast from the past

Yesterday, at the Le Book Party on Mercer Street, I ran into Marek, the agent of the great photographer Deborah Turbeville. Deborah was the photographer who gave me my big break in NYC, by booking me for Vogue with Isabella Rossellini.

Fun Fact: Isabella Rossellini was kind enough to endorse my latest book Makeup for Ageless Beauty with a quote on the back, “… I’m amazed at the variety of different looks she’s created for me-they always let me shine through.”

A New Look for Catwoman

So, painting really does take on a life of its own. I did these couple of paintings inspired by the model Maddy that M.A.C. used in Chicago and they came out looking very comic strip like, maybe this is the makeup for  the next Catwoman movie? I’m a bit sick of the black mask she always wears, it needs a little more creativity…

Commissioned Portraits of Children

I love painting children and when painting a commissioned portrait also often do another painting a little more abstract for myself.
I’ve been thinking about a question I am often asked about my art- how long did it take you to do that? This weekend I thought of the answer, 64 years…
