Thalita did a bolder temporary tattoo on Dolly this week. I prefer this one. The other one was very pretty, but Dolly is very tall and striking and the simplicity of the of these words suits her.

Thalita did a great job working with Dollie on her custom temporary tattoo. Dollie came in with an idea of the words she wanted in Chinese and together they chose the placement and decoration. This is how I feel tattoos should be worn – like makeup or clothing, you can take them off and change them as you feel.

After years of doing the screening of the accessories myself, I’ve let Thalita and Gaby do their thing with the screens I have. They came up with this great leg shape so we had Crystal model it. Unfortunately, we don’t have many – I’m trying to decide whether to keep them and have them replicated or just sell them as one-off pieces. Only in small.

A friend Autumn sent me this Ottlite mirror. I’m a bit of a snob as to what I like to have around me  and our mirrors at home are ones that Gene and I have made, but I decided to try it out and I am hooked. I always did my makeup in daylight,this is better as it is more reliable and the magnifying is wonderful. Now I will just have to make something to go underneath to house my makeup products for my morning ritual.

Margaret and Miriam came by today on their way from Texas to Vancouver on United Airlines . They were  incredibly  generous, so much so, that Margaret gave me the coat off her back. Thalita applied Red hot to Margaret, and Tallulah to Miriam, these vibrant colors accentuated their warm personalities. l will definitely fly with them sometime on United.

Another of our fabulous clients, Dolly, chose the Mini Masterpiece “Belami” for her favorite makeup colors ( she and her mother agreed that it resembled her when she was a child). Originally she had come for a custom temporary tattoo, which we shall show you later, then fell under the spell of the Mini Masterpieces.

Laura coined a new word, “cliend”, because when I’ve seen my clients quite a lot, I tend to look at them as friends. So, Mimi is our first cliend and we will be showing you more of our cliends over future months. I could not resist photographing Mimi wearing this blue scarf that her mother had given her. She looked so great in front of the print of Coco from the “Ageless” exhibit and has inspired me to put more blue on my clients- so beware… Orange would look great in here too…

This is a really great pure pink matte blush. Just use a touch for a natural glow or layer for more intensity. Our Betty Blush Flash.

Today I photographed my friend and former book editor (on Sun Sign makeovers my first book)  Barbara Clark, who I consider one of the best editors Canada had in a long time. I was photographing her for her literary agency website. No matter how well I know someone I sort of rediscover them again when photographing them. I had not known that Barbara was a native New Yorker (she will be a guest blogger soon for the blog nynatives.com ),and that she was a former child model. When I have made up Barbara before I always used greens(stone) but today used opal and cocoa on her eyes and corals on her lips and cheeks. Laura came in and draped a pretty blue necklace that added a touch of a cooler color.

Pasqui had some great hair ideas so we decided to experiment on Thalita. The results will be limited edition prints in the gallery.
